Thermal conductivity of high temperature refractory material

Mar. 30, 2018

Thermal conductivity of high temperature refractory material is an important indicator for furnace body and bottom. High temperature furnace lining is protected by cooling equipment. The furnace lining material should have high heat transfer capability, can the cooling equipment give its full play. So we hope the carbon brick of furnace hearth and furnace bottom have high thermal conductivity at high temperature, to strengthen the cooling effect, reducing the speed of brick lining erosion.

It is well known that reducing furnace lining temperature can reduce furnace lining erosion caused by a variety of reasons. For example, the extent of furnace slag erosion, molten iron penetration and corrosion will decrease with the decrease of lining temperature. The corrosion of alkali metals and zinc on the lining of the furnace is mainly happens when temperature range is 800 to 1000 degrees Celsius. If the furnace lining temperature is cooled to below 800 degrees Celsius, the corrosion of alkali metal and zinc on the lining will be greatly relieved. However, some parts of high temperature refractory material does not require high heat conductivity, for example ceramic cup brick requires good heat preservation performance and low thermal conductivity. Brick lining of furnace body does not require high thermal conductivity either.

Furnace builders and contractors, above is the importance of high temperature refractory material to furnace hearth and furnace bottom. Hope this can bring help to you.
