The reasons of CCEWOOL refractory clay brick 's damage in gasifier

Nov. 11, 2016

In terms of working conditions and using environment of the refractory clay brick in the gasifier, there are the causes of damages:

1. the erosion of slag

The coal contains Si, Al, Ca, Fe and other trace metal salts that constitute the coal ash, different coal can form different types of slag, slag through the brick penetration, dissolution and with refractory bricks to form low melting point compounds, changing the composition of brick, low melting point compounds continue to wash, resulting in refractory clay brick has been welded, infiltration, which was gradually denuded, entrained by the air into the quench chamber to form ash.

2. the destruction of thermal stress

Because the thickness of refractory clay bricks has temperature gradient and the inhibitory effect of furnace shell, the refractory bricks generated the annular stress. In addition, different components of refractory bricks have different thermal expansion coefficients and will produce different thermal stresses in the brick. Frequent open parking led to large fluctuations in furnace temperature, but also make the thermal stress of refractory brick rapid changes caused cracks in the surface of the brick, so that make refractory bricks continue to be erosion.

3, the impact of operating conditions

Unstable operating conditions such as frequent open parking, temperature and pressure fluctuations and some operational errors will increase the erosion of refractory bricks, with the operating temperature increase, and refractory bricks will increase the rate of damage.

4. the impact of other factors

Due to coal instability, resulting in changes in the composition of slag; burner assembly size not uniform, resulting in coal slurry atomization effect is not good; burner in the late use, coil leakage; the quality of furnace masonry is poor and other factors can also change the use of refractory bricks.

We hope that the cause of the damage of CCEWOOL refractory clay brick in the gasification furnace above can bring some help to furnaces manufactures. Next time, we will introduce the measures to extend the service life of CCEWOOL refractory clay bricks in the gasifier, so stay tuned.
