Construction requirements of calcium silicate insulation board for cement kiln

Apr. 12, 2021

This issue we continue to introduce characteristics and application performance of calcium silicate insulation board.

Construction requirements of calcium silicate insulation board for cement kiln

3.The construction process is flexible and convenient.

During the construction process, workers can cut the calcium silicate insulation board into various shapes according to the design requirements of the kiln. The construction process is simpler and more time saving compared with refractory bricks and refractory castables.

     4. Durable and safe to use.

Calcium silicate insulation board does not contain harmful substances to human body. Its flame-retardant, corrosion-resistant, and thermal insulation performance at high temperatures are better than other thermal insulation products. Using calcium silicate board in kilns can achieve significant effects in both technical and economic aspects.

Masonry requirements of calcium silicate insulation board:

The installation of calcium silicate insulation board must meet two requirements: to meet heat insulation and prevent alkaline gas from intruding into the shell; the surface must be smooth and flat to meet the requirements of refractory brick masonry.

Therefore, the calcium silicate insulation board must be kept dry, and the damp or undried  calcium silicate insulation board cannot be used; the bonding powder used for masonry is made of special high-temperature refractory mortar. The refractory mortar shall not be stirred with water to keep the calcium silicate board dry. The refractory mortar should be mixed with water glass to achieve the best consistency. When installing, the calcium silicate insulation board should be smoothly laid along the shell, and the built insulation layer kiln must be firmly attached to the shell, and the ash seam shall not be greater than 2.5mm.If the furnace shell is deformed or welded seam is large, it should be leveled with refractory mortar, the calcium silicate insulation board should be cut or shoveled to compensate, and finally the surface of the calcium silicate insulation board is smooth.
