Installation technique of insulation fire brick in tunnel kiln

     Tunnel kiln installation procedure requires extra attention as every single step is of great importance. Lightweight insulation fire brick is mainly used as lining for kiln walls and ceilings.

Installation technique of insulation fire brick in tunnel kiln

     1. Kiln wall insulaton

     Both sides of kiln walls should be plastered with cement mortar, covering at least 90% of the walls. The gap between refractory fire bricks and insulation fire bricks should be less than 3mm.

     (1) Laying insulation fire brick

     Insulation fire brick shall be laid in accordance with manufacturer’s approved procedure. To make sure the gap between bricks is less than 3mm, each brick used should be in the same exact dimension. Avoid using metal hammer but rubber or wooden hammer to adjust brick wall. Besides, using cutting machine to cut off the unwanted parts. It is advisable to use refractory fire bricks where there is exposure to fire.
