The heat resistance and thermal insulation mechanism of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber, like other refractory materials, is determined by its own chemical and physical properties. The aluminum silicate ceramic fiber is white in color, loose in structure, soft in texture, and shaped like cotton wool. These are important condition for its good heat insulation and heat preservation performance.
Thermal conductivity of aluminum silicate ceramic fiber is only one third of the refractory concrete within 1150 ° C, so the heat conducted through it is small. Its proportion is only about one-fifth of that of ordinary refractory bricks, and its heat capacity is small, and its own heat storage is small.
The aluminum silicate ceramic fiber is white and soft, and has a high reflectivity to heat. Most of the heat radiated to the refractory fiber is reflected back. Therefore, when refractory fiber is used as a lining of the heat treatment heating furnace, the heat inside furnace is being reflected several times and finally almost all concentrated on the being heated workpiece.
At the same time, since the fiber is cotton-like, the texture is soft, light and elastic, and the performance is stable at high temperatures. It can withstand the sudden change of hot and cold without cracking, and has good properties such as insulation and noise reduction, and its chemical stability is also very good.
