Brief introduction for four degree of high alumina brick and their performance

Apr. 22, 2016

High alumina brick is a very important neutral refractory material, which has a wide range of application in furnace. Next, let’s us know how to classify high alumina brick? And what is the performance of different alumina content of high alumina brick.

First of all, generally divide high alumina brick into 4 degree.

First grade high alumina brick

The alumina content is more than 75%, this kind of high alumina brick has high compressive strength which can reach up to 70MPA, refractoriness under load is 1510℃, porosity about 20%. First grade high alumina brick has good fire resistance.

Second grade high alumina brick

The alumina content is more than 65%, the Fe% should be less than 2.5%, but Fe is a kind of harmful substance for high alumina brick. It can reduce the service time and refractoriness of high alumina brick, so we should control the content of Fe content. The bulk density of high alumina brick is 2.4kg/m3. The compressive strength is 60MPA, refractoriness under load is 1460℃.

Third grade high alumina brick

The alumina content is more than 55%, the refractoriness under load of this kind of high alumina brick is 1420℃.

Special type high alumina brick

The alumina content is more than 82%, the refractoriness under load of this kind of high alumina brick is 1550℃. We generally judge high alumina brick from its alumina content, al% has innate effect for the quality of high alumina brick. But the production process has an very important influences for high alumina brick,

CCEWOOL high alumina brick is made from 100% chamott, full automatic batching, so the quality of CCEWOOL high alumina brick is more stable, impurity content less than 2%.
