The features of Aluminum Silicate Ceramic Fiber used in industrial facilities

Nov. 01, 2019

In our last article, we talked about the features of Aluminum Silicate Ceramic Fiber used in industrial facilities. We will continue to elaborate on other major features in this section.

2. Chemical Stability

The superior chemical stability of Aluminum Silicate Ceramic Fiber is due to its chemical composition and impurity content. There is barely chemical reaction with both hot and cold water for its low alkali content, making it exceptionally stable under oxidization conditions; however, when it comes to strongly reduction conditions, impurities like FeO3 and TiO2 will be formed, shortening the fiber’s service life.

3. Bulk Density and Thermal Conductivity

Different manufacturing techniques would lead to different bulk densities, ranging from 50kg/m3 to 500kg/m3. To identify the performance of insulation products, the value of thermal conductivity is the main index. That is to say, smaller value means better performance; however, the value is variable depending on bulk density and temperature. The small value of thermal conductivity is one of the major reasons that makes the performance of Calcium Silicate Ceramic Fiber overshadow other similar products.

4. Easy Process

This insulation material is lightweight and easy to process. By adding binders, products for different purposes would be easily made. There are also ready-made felts and blankets available.

This is about the features of Aluminum Silicate Ceramic Fiber used in industrial facilities. We hope the above information would satisfy your concerns regarding this product.
